RELEASE / GLASSHOUSE
Release control.
[ CASE_STUDY / 03 ]
Release pressure turned into one readable signal.
A release-planning workspace for independent music with terminal detail, project switching and responsive progress states.
Audience
Signal is imagined for independent artists and small teams coordinating masters, artwork, distribution and campaign activity without a dedicated release manager.
Objective
The workspace needs to make readiness, ownership and the next required action obvious while retaining the energy of a working music studio.
The brief
Unify the fragmented parts of a fictional music release without flattening them into a generic task board. The interface should help a team answer what is ready, what is blocked and what happens next.
Creative direction
IBM Plex Mono, dense terminal structure and a single acid-green signal colour create a purposeful studio console. Supporting greys separate metadata from actionable states without introducing decorative dashboard colour.
Product experience
Users can switch releases, adjust the schedule, inspect delivery assets, filter campaign work and complete tasks. Every action updates the readiness score, waveform state and next-action prompt from the same source of truth.
Responsive system
Desktop panels support scanning across a release; narrower layouts reorganise around the next required task. Timeline and asset detail remain independently usable rather than shrinking into unreadable dashboard tiles.
Motion language
Waveform activity, scan progress and sharp status changes communicate system response. Movement is functional and state-led, with no cinematic transitions interrupting focused work.
Access and fallback
Canvas is supplementary and all readiness information also exists as text. Keyboard actions, labelled filters, visible task states and a static waveform fallback preserve the workflow without graphics or motion.
